It’s busy times for INKISH. As Ziga Kovac and I enjoyed almost 20 degrees Celsius in Athens, while visiting the family-owned company Pressious Avarnitidis, our colleague Henrik Klem Lassen is in Shanghai visiting friends and followers in China.

The first photos show an overwhelming number of attendees.

But back to Greece. Pressious is fifty years old, and the third generation is lined up to take over when the time is right. It’s the two cousins Diamantis and Yannis, who today are 22 and 25, that will take over the family-owned company, and they will take over a successful company.

Despite operating in a declining commercial print market, new technology, a “hungry” sales organization, and a focus on primarily perfect-bound products are, according to the two cousins, the recipe. Still, of course also AI and digital print are also mentioned.

As the offset department is about an hour outside Athens in an area surrounded by fields and mountains, and despite not being in a city, it’s called Ypato.

The new XL106 21K 8-color with perfector, together with an XL106 5-color with varnish, handles most of the offset production, but two twenty-year-old Speedmasters with roll/cutstar are still maintained and ready to support when needed!

A bindery with the capability to produce cut, stitched, sewn, and perfect-bound glued books is busy and is by far the bottleneck today!

In Athens - and we weren’t there - Pressious also operates a digital division with Xerox equipment.

The company has about 150 employees, is FSC-certified, and produces high-quality printed products - you will see in the finished film.

Great day hanging out with the cousins and the marketing manager, Ria - and of course we got the pleasure of meeting representatives from all three generations ;-)
