Global Graphics Joins GWG to Advance Print Standards and PDF Best Practices

Global Graphics Software has officially joined the Ghent Workgroup (GWG), the international graphic arts standards organization, further strengthening its commitment to advancing best practices for PDF workflows in print production. Known for developing the Harlequin RIP and SmartDFE for digital presses, Global Graphics brings decades of expertise in high-performance rendering and print software development to the GWG’s efforts to standardize and simplify complex production processes.

The addition of Global Graphics to the GWG’s membership aligns with the group’s mission to create practical specifications for PDF use in graphic arts, helping printers, designers, and software developers achieve predictable, high-quality output across various applications. As part of the group, Global Graphics will contribute to working groups focused on digital print, packaging, and PDF/X, sharing insights from its work with press manufacturers and production software developers.

David Zwang, Chair of the GWG, welcomed the move: “We’re excited to have Global Graphics on board. Their leadership in RIP technology and digital front ends will enrich our collective expertise as we develop the next generation of PDF workflow standards.”
