Digimarc’s technology uses tamper-detectable digital watermarks—similar to QR codes—that are embedded into the gift card surface and scanned at the point-of-sale. If a watermark is altered, the card won’t activate, blocking fraudulent use. This system leverages existing POS scanner capabilities, eliminating the need for new hardware or packaging investments.

Through this partnership, GTUS enables card producers to apply these secure watermarks using its eZ-Inkjet industrial printing technology, ensuring seamless integration into current card manufacturing workflows.
