HBD Packaging, a family-owned packaging producer based in Greater Noida near Delhi, has invested in a state-of-the-art Rapida 106 from Koenig & Bauer. Commissioned at the end of August, the seven-color press with coater is designed to boost efficiency and enhance the company’s ability to handle a wide range of applications. Established in 1985 by the Bhargava family, HBD Packaging is recognized as one of India’s leading packaging providers and holds certifications including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, HACCP, FSC®, and FSSC 22000.
The Rapida 106 was custom-configured to match HBD’s diverse production requirements. Featuring a 750 x 1,060 mm sheet format, it processes substrates up to 1.2 mm thick, enabling the company to expand capabilities in folding cartons, laminated solid and corrugated board, hang tags, and more. The press is equipped with a fully automatic plate changing system, advanced color measurement tools, and automated register controls, all designed to minimize makeready times and maximize throughput. With speeds of up to 18,000 sheets per hour, non-stop feeders, and raised platforms for larger stacks, the press delivers both flexibility and efficiency.
Managing Director Rajiv Bhargava emphasized that the decision was driven by both technology and trust in Koenig & Bauer’s local support. “The Rapida 106 is our dream machine. It enables faster, smoother, and more reliable production than ever before and positions us strongly for the future,” he said. Indo Polygraph Machinery, Koenig & Bauer’s sales partner in India, played a central role in the project. “This installation underscores why Rapida technology remains the benchmark for productivity and performance in India,” added Aditya Surana, Managing Director of Indo Polygraph Machinery.
