Koenig & Bauer (NA) and Rigorous Technology are teaming up to offer corrugated and folding carton manufacturers a free educational webinar on December 15 at 2 p.m. ET. The session, titled Right Fit Automation in Box Plants, will provide practical guidance on deploying robotic palletizers and automation solutions to streamline finishing operations, address labor challenges, and boost throughput.

The event will be moderated by Diane Abruzzini, COO and co-founder of Rigorous Technology, joined by CEO and co-founder Colin Riggs, VP of Product Chelsea Allen, and Tom Fitzgerald, Koenig & Bauer’s Director of Post Press and Corrugated Products. Together, they will explore how to determine the right automation approach for a box plant, including whether collaborative or industrial robots are the best fit, and whether turnkey or custom solutions offer the best ROI.

Attendees will get a first look at Rigorous’ newest product for box makers and see a live demonstration of the RIG palletizer, designed specifically for finishing workflows such as folder-gluer end-of-line handling. The speakers will also explain how robotics is helping the printing and packaging industry overcome labor shortages by simplifying machine operation through intuitive interfaces, alarm systems, and automated fault recovery.

Case studies will highlight how companies such as Accurate Box Company and Southern Champion Tray are using Koenig & Bauer equipment paired with Rigorous’ RIG Palletizing software to scale automation cost-effectively. The collaboration between the two suppliers has enabled tailored solutions, including tooling and software advancements for half-slotted carton (HSC) applications.
