Koenig & Bauer Kyana, the digital solutions subsidiary of Koenig & Bauer AG, has taken a significant step toward industry-wide data integration by successfully connecting a competitor’s printing press to its digital ecosystem at Grafika Printing, Inc. in Pennsylvania. This integration allows Grafika to centralize production data from all equipment, regardless of manufacturer, within the Kyana Data platform, achieving full visibility into its operations for the first time. The initiative demonstrates Koenig & Bauer’s commitment to providing customers with open, scalable tools that enhance productivity and competitiveness.

Using the IIoT gateway Kyana Connect, Grafika’s third-party machine now securely transmits data to the Koenig & Bauer Cloud. Through the customer portal myKyana, Grafika can access both Kyana Data, the company’s powerful production analysis tool, and Kyana Assist, an AI-driven expert system for performance optimization. “Our mission is to lead the print and packaging industry into the future,” said Sandra Wagner, CEO of Koenig & Bauer Kyana. “The successful connection of the third-party machine at Grafika shows that we are not limiting ourselves to our own presses.
