Konica Minolta Powers Brown Printing’s Expansion into High-impact, Short-run Print

Brown Printing, a family-owned trade printer based in Portland, Oregon, has expanded its capabilities by investing in Konica Minolta’s AccurioJet KM-1e and MGI JETvarnish 3D One. The move marks a strategic upgrade for the 80-year-old company, now delivering premium, short-run, embellished work with greater speed, flexibility, and precision. The KM-1e’s LED UV inkjet technology enables offset-like quality and instant curing without coated stock, while the JETvarnish 3D One introduces tactile finishes and spot UV without the need for screens or dies—ideal for high-impact, low-volume applications like influencer kits and personalized mailers.

“These additions allow us to do a lot more in less time and produce a much wider range of products,” said Randy Murray, Owner of Brown Printing. “They deliver new efficiencies and faster turnarounds with greater output, all while reducing waste and downtime.” This technology pairing strengthens Brown Printing’s position in the market by unlocking new revenue streams and production efficiencies, according to Konica Minolta’s IPP President, Frank Mallozzi.
