Kyocera Corporation has announced the launch of its new “TPA Series” thermal printhead, setting what it claims is a new industry benchmark for desktop barcode label printing with speeds up to 250 mm per second. Full-scale production begins in August 2025. Designed for high-demand sectors such as distribution, food processing, and healthcare, the new printheads combine speed, durability, and flexibility, ensuring clear, high-definition printing even at maximum throughput.
The TPA Series leverages Kyocera’s proprietary heating element and film deposition technologies to deliver faster print speeds, expanded mounting tolerances, and superior environmental resistance. This makes it adaptable to a wide range of print media while reducing wear and extending service life in demanding applications. The company emphasized the rising demand for reliable, high-volume barcode label printing, the TPA Series provides both productivity and durability to support global logistics, food safety, and healthcare needs.
