Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona attracted over 37,000 attendees and occupied more than 43,000 net square meters of exhibitor space, the largest in the show’s 45-year run. Organizers reported strong global engagement, with an 18 percent increase in top decision-makers, nearly a 50 percent growth in South American visitors compared to 2023, and a 28 percent increase from North America. Spain, Italy, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom led the list of top visiting countries, underscoring the event’s position as the global hub for the label and package printing sector.

Innovation was a defining theme on the show floor. Exhibitors showcased advances in flexo, digital, and hybrid technologies, with automation, cloud integration, and AI-driven interfaces taking center stage. Sustainability was equally prominent, with initiatives such as the Better Stands program encouraging the construction of recyclable stands and a new partnership with DMP to recycle matrix waste into usable materials. James Steptoe, Technical Director at Troika Systems Ltd, praised the event as “incredibly dynamic and future-focused,” noting how technology, workflow efficiency, and environmental responsibility are reshaping the packaging industry at speed.

New content and community features expanded the visitor experience, including the Pulse conference arena, the Gold Concierge Club, a dedicated app, and the first-ever community industry run through Barcelona. The inaugural Labels & Labeling Global Awards celebrated the sector’s achievements, while Labelexpo Ambassadors delivered keynotes and Q&A sessions on pressing topics, including folding cartons, flexible packaging, and AI in print. Looking ahead, organizers announced a strategic rebranding of the event series to LOUPE, beginning in 2026. Managing Director Jade Grace emphasized that while labels remain the core, the portfolio will expand to include flexible packaging and folding cartons. The next European edition, LOUPE Europe 2027, is scheduled to take place from October 5 to 8, 2027.
