Michelman is set to introduce DigiPrime® Vision 9200 at Dscoop Edge Rockies in Denver, positioning the new primer as a productivity breakthrough for HP Indigo press owners producing shrink sleeves and premium labels. Developed for HP Indigo inline priming units, Vision 9200 allows operators to seam directly through the primer without leaving a dry edge, eliminating lane priming and reducing setup complexity. The result is improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness, fewer consumable changes, and greater press uptime across diversified job streams.
Expanded customer trials are underway in Europe and the Americas, with operators reporting strong seaming bond strength and broad substrate compatibility ranging from transparent PETG shrink films to textured wine label stocks. The non-yellowing formulation delivers enhanced water and chemical resistance, critical for beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical applications where durability under moisture exposure is essential. By enabling press operators to move between shrink sleeves and labels without switching primers, Vision 9200 simplifies production workflows while maintaining high ink adhesion and print quality.
The new primer aligns with sustainability goals, featuring a water-based, PFAS-free formulation suitable for food-contact applications. According to Andy Rae, Strategic Account Manager at Michelman, the shrink sleeve market printed with liquid electrophotography is projected to grow at nearly 20% annually through 2029, driven by brand demand for digital versatility. Michelman will showcase DigiPrime Vision 9200 and its broader portfolio of barrier and functional coatings at booth 708 during Dscoop Edge Rockies, March 8–11, 2026.
