Micropress unveiled plans to install the UK’s first Jetfire 50 from HEIDELBERG, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and continued investment in digital printing technology. The new press will enhance capacity to meet rising demand for high-quality inkjet production and support the company’s growing digital strategy.
“We first invested in inkjet technology at the start of 2024, and it has proved extremely successful for us,” said Rob Cross, Joint Managing Director at Micropress. “We’ve now reached capacity and needed an additional machine to cope with demand. The Jetfire 50 fits that need perfectly.”
After a competitive evaluation process involving several leading suppliers, Micropress selected HEIDELBERG for its advanced technology, proven reliability, and strong service support. The Jetfire 50, part of HEIDELBERG’s latest inkjet generation, delivers high-speed performance and exceptional image quality while integrating seamlessly with the Prinect portal for enhanced automation and efficiency.
“We know the technology, and it’s proven,” Cross explained. “HEIDELBERG are a key partner to our business, and their service record speaks for itself. We’re confident the Jetfire 50 will perform at the highest level.” The investment has been well received internally, with employees enthusiastic about the new addition. “There’s genuine excitement about being early adopters and pride in being the first UK business to bring the Jetfire 50 online,” said Cross.
While litho printing remains central to Micropress’s operations, the company has seen increasing demand for shorter, more frequent print runs requiring digital flexibility. “The Jetfire 50 gives us the ideal solution, enabling us to deliver the right combination of price, quality, and turnaround for every job,” Cross added.
The new press will also support the launch of Press Print, Micropress’s new online print ordering platform designed to make professional print services more accessible. “Press Print represents a major milestone for us,” said Cross. “It’s a new channel aimed at expanding our reach and offering customers a fast, reliable way to order print online.”
The installation of the Jetfire 50 marks another step in Micropress’s long-term investment strategy, ensuring the company remains agile, competitive, and ready to meet the future demands of the print market.
