Mutoh has expanded its XpertJet portfolio with the release of the 1682UR, a 64-inch UV LED roll-to-roll printer engineered for high-impact graphics across a wide range of substrates. Capable of producing wall décor, exhibition signage, floor graphics, and fine art prints, the press combines productivity and precision with reported speeds up to 27 square meters per hour and a resolution of up to 1440 x 1440 dpi. Its dual monoblock 1440 nozzle heads and UV LED lamps allow for advanced single-pass five-layer printing without the need for media pull back.

Designed for versatility, the XpertJet 1682UR offers a suite of multi-layer options including four-layer and five-layer print modes for creative frontlit, backlit, and dual-visual applications. The system also delivers enhanced spot varnish effects, enabling striking textures and finishes on transparent, colored, and non-white materials. This capability positions the printer as a tool for providers seeking to add value and differentiation to their wide-format output.

The new press is powered by Mutoh’s recently launched US81 UV LED inks, which are free from SVHCs and TPOs, ensuring compliance with EU REACH safety standards. Offering high adhesion and scratch resistance, the inks are optimized for flexible substrates such as tarpaulins, soft signage, transparent films, and multi-layer graphics. “By combining the advanced capabilities of the XpertJet 1682UR with our new US81 inks, we deliver a complete solution that is powerful, flexible, and future-proof,” said Stephan Heintjens, general manager of product and quality assurance at Mutoh Europe.
