Linemark is, by all means, an amazing printing company based in Mary Land, outside Washington DC. We have been so fortunate to visit the company two times - as they agreed to talk about their Müller Martini and Enfocus Switch investments. That has led to two fantastic films on INKISH - one published today, February 3rd, 2022, and the second to follow shortly. However, this story is about how our sponsors support their customers by utilizing a service we have offered for years.
When we sell packages to our sponsors, our base package is called Perspective. The films we do - both the editorial and the commercial, are made the same way. We don't accept scripts, and we disclaim in public if the sponsor has interfered with the content - so the viewer can be confident in the film being unbiased and only representing the PSP. This model works great and makes it easy for us and the PSP. The Perspective film typically lasts between 5-12 minutes, and we try to give you a 360 degrees view of the company, understanding where they come from, their market, the business challenges, and from here talking about the specific investment solving a specific problem!
We do a short edit specifically about the sponsor's product based on the Perspective film. It's not a separate recording, and we don't encourage the PSP to praise the product. This, in our mind, delivers honest and unbiased testimonials of a product and will support the vendor sponsoring the film. We call these types of films Testimonials.A few years ago, we got what we believe is a great idea. The PSPs need to promote their company to their customers, so why not make a commercial for the printing company while being on location? We call these films for Demand as they motivate demand for the products offered by the PSP. In the example with Linemark, they would like to create further demand for the production of books, and if we can support that mission, we support Linemark and the entire industry.
If you look at the Demand film we did for Linemark, you see President Steve Bearden talking directly to his potential customers in a film that I find engaging and with clear call-to-action.As we all work in a creative and visual industry, it's essential to communicate clearly and with great visuals.
Creating a film like the one we did with Linemark doesn't take much extra time when already on site. The value depends on the spread and how prospects react to the message. I like it. What do you think?
