Changing from Online Print Symposium to Online Print Summit
One of the most interesting recurring events is, by far, the OPS, which in the 2026 edition changed its name to OPS. Explanation follows :-) OPS has until now been short for Online Print Symposium, but will from 2026 be the Online Print Summit to underscore some of the significant changes that the attendees will experience. OPS is still engaging and inspiring speakers, but the new version promises 100% more exhibition space, 100% more networking, and 100% more Hygge. Hygge is a Danish expression that, like ombudsman and a few other words, is difficult to translate. It means cosiness, chill, relaxed, and an atmosphere that, in a Scandinavian context, opens up for broad conversations, intimacy, and trust. Love that word, and great to see it being used in the context of OPS.
The program is jam-packed with interesting speakers and exhibitors, but what is missing is the “obvious.” OPS is maybe the only think-tank and tool shop shaping the printing industry of tomorrow.
OPS is the only place in the printing industry where start-ups are presented to a broad audience and not only inspire, but also attract investments. Over the years, several startups have been introduced just before becoming household names. It’s also the only place where you can relatively easily talk to the CEOs of major online printers.
Bernd Zipper’s tremendous advocacy for online printing has, of course, also made the OPS into a hub for online printers, where the biggest online printers in the world come to Munich, probably to find inspiration.
As the OPS also, at least for me, focused on Creators Economy, it opened new views on how Business-to-Consumer opens entirely new doors. One of the companies that you will meet at OPS is Gelato. The charismatic founder and CEO, Henrik Müller Hansen, is now a member of the advisory board along with Robert Keane (Cimpress), Ulrich Stetter (Druckhaus Mainfranken), and Sven Burkhardt (Elanders). This diversity will ensure future programs in the upper league.
You must check out the program online, and if you are at all interested in the future of print - and in particular online print, the OPS is a must-attend event.
It takes place in Munich, March 12-13th, 2026.
