Girls Who Print Africa held its latest PrintHerCon last week, bringing together a growing community of women across the print and design industries for a day described by attendees as transformational. The opening address set an assertive tone, calling participants to lead with intention and to elevate their impact within a rapidly developing African print landscape. The organisation highlighted progress made through BoldConvo, its monthly industry dialogue series. It announced two new strategic initiatives: FoundersConnect, a platform designed to support women entrepreneurs, and Project ReacHER, a rural empowerment programme focused on providing print skills to underserved girls.
A keynote session provided what organisers called a “mindset reset,” outlining global shifts shaping the print sector and the opportunities emerging for African markets. The conversation grounded participants in both strategic outlook and practical next steps. A panel discussion followed, addressing topics such as pricing in challenging economic conditions, brand development, team culture and career reinvention. Speakers emphasised practical experience and candid insights, while audience participation underscored the relevance of the discussions.
Event organisers also credited the master of ceremonies for maintaining energy and engagement throughout the programme. As the event closed, Girls Who Print Africa reiterated its mission to build a skilled and empowered workforce, expand opportunities and support the next generation of women entering the print industry. PrintHerCon 2025 underscored the momentum behind that effort, with organisers positioning the continent’s future print landscape as bold, capable and driven by women.
