Shawmut Communications Group Invests in Koenig & Bauer Allpro 110 to Expand Carton Capabilities

Shawmut Communications Group, a family-owned print provider based in Peabody, MA, has taken a major step toward expanding into the folding carton market with the installation of a Koenig & Bauer Allpro 110 folder gluer. Known for its sustainability and excellence in commercial printing, Shawmut is positioning itself as a competitive force in the long-run, automated carton segment. “Our goal was to secure a folder gluer capable of producing the most complex range of carton styles, minimizing make-ready and maximizing capability,” said Justin Peluso, Director of Packaging. “Koenig & Bauer was truly invested in seeing us succeed.”

After careful evaluation—including a site visit to a New England-based Allpro user—Shawmut selected the Allpro 110 for its versatility, advanced features like auto-bottom and 4 & 6-corner capabilities, high speed, and scalability for future growth. The availability of local technical support and competitive pricing sealed the deal. “Our new Koenig & Bauer Allpro 110 has absolutely allowed us to differentiate ourselves in the market,” Peluso added. With 2026 already tracking ahead of goals, Shawmut now expects to reach a 50-50 split between folding carton and commercial print work far sooner than originally projected.
