Stibo Complete is taking another step toward fully automated production with the installation of a high-speed plate loading robot from ECO3 at its Katrineholm facility. The six-axis system integrates seamlessly into a modernized CtP workflow, handling everything from plate lifting to feeding and processing without manual intervention. Capable of loading up to 80 plates per hour, the robot eliminates approximately 55 tons of manual lifting each year while enabling continuous, unattended production—even overnight—significantly improving throughput and operational flexibility.
Beyond productivity gains, the investment supports workforce sustainability and cost efficiency by reducing physical strain and reallocating labor to higher-value tasks. “Our workforce may not be getting younger, but this technology helps them work smarter and longer,” said Niels Henrik Nielsen, Prepress Team Lead at Stibo. With fewer operators required, lower waste, and improved reliability, the automation aligns with Stibo’s broader strategy to modernize operations while maintaining profitability in a competitive print environment.
