In a major advancement for pressroom color management, Techkon USA introduces SmartAnilox, a new tool in ChromaQA 7 that goes beyond traditional ink density adjustments by predicting the deltaE impact of switching anilox rolls. Developed by Techkon’s engineering team, the tool leverages print data across various anilox volumes, ink systems, and substrates to recommend the optimal roll for each color, enhancing print precision and speed. “SmartAnilox identifies the exact anilox roll needed to achieve the lowest Delta E,” says Stephen Rankin, Director of Product at Techkon USA.
Once baseline drawdowns are recorded across common anilox volumes, the InkCheck graph in ChromaQA 7 will visually display the predicted color results for all available rolls. This predictive functionality helps press operators make informed adjustments with confidence. SmartAnilox is part of a broader feature set being rolled out in ChromaQA 7 later this month.
