Coventry-based large-format specialist The Big Ink Tank has installed an Agfa Anapurna Ciervo H3200 hybrid UV LED printer as part of a strategic growth plan. Replacing its previous Anapurna H3200i, installed in 2018, the new 3.2m-wide platform delivers higher speeds, sharper print quality, and improved ink efficiency across both roll-to-roll and rigid applications. With around 60% of work produced roll-to-roll and the remainder on boards and specialty substrates, flexibility was essential. “The new platform has given us a real leap forward,” said owner Ty Power, noting that what once required a full day of printing can now be completed in just over half a day.
The Ciervo’s lighter ink laydown combined with enhanced image quality has proven particularly valuable for exhibition and museum signage, where colour accuracy and legibility are critical. Agfa’s Asanti workflow software has further streamlined operations, with preset job configurations and intuitive controls supporting the company’s agile, hands-on production model. Crucially, the upgrade has enabled The Big Ink Tank to double throughput without expanding its six-person team, providing additional headroom during peak exhibition seasons when artwork often arrives at the last minute. Backed by responsive Agfa support, the investment gives the business a stable five-year platform to grow while maintaining the bespoke, value-driven approach that defines its market position.
