TOPPAN Launches Hybrid BOPP/BOPE Film Line to Boost Sustainable Packaging Supply

TOPPAN Inc. and its Indian subsidiary, TOPPAN Speciality Films (TSF), have introduced a hybrid manufacturing line capable of producing both BOPP and BOPE films on the same machine—marking a major step in expanding sustainable packaging solutions. Mass production will begin mid-November, increasing TSF’s film production capacity by 40% to serve global food and FMCG markets. This move supports rising demand—particularly in Europe—for recycle-ready mono-material packaging as brands shift from PET to more eco-friendly substrates.

The new line delivers high-speed output, advanced quality control, and the flexibility to manufacture high-performance films with consistent quality. It strengthens TOPPAN’s end-to-end packaging capabilities, from film manufacturing to converting, while also supporting India’s Plastic Waste Management Rules and extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations. By 2027, TSF aims to reach 33,000 tons in annual sales, further advancing the global rollout of high-function BOPP/BOPE films and GL BARRIER solutions for a more circular packaging economy.
