Two Sides Research Shows Consumers Prefer Paper for Learning, Trust, and Everyday Life

New research from the Two Sides Trend Tracker 2025 survey shows that despite digital growth, consumers continue to value print for comprehension, trust, and learning. Preferences for printed books, magazines, and essential documents like medical or financial information have rebounded since the pandemic, with 65% preferring printed books and 76% wanting the choice to avoid digital-only communication. The survey also reveals that print supports better learning and news understanding, with over half of respondents saying students learn better with printed materials. As screen fatigue grows, print is recognized not only as a more engaging and distraction-free medium but also as a sustainable, recyclable, and trusted source of information.
