The University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) Printing & Mailing Services has installed a new 5-color RMGT 970 press with LED-UV curing, supplied by Graphco, RMGT’s exclusive distributor for the Midwest and Southeast. This upgrade replaces a 30-year-old legacy press and affirms UAB’s commitment to offset printing, which still accounts for half its production volume. The RMGT 970’s LED-UV technology drastically reduces drying time, enhances production efficiency, and eliminates spray powder while cutting energy use. The press has enabled in-house production of previously outsourced soft-touch coating jobs, improved ink usage, and significantly reduced waste.
