UPM Specialty Papers is investing over €10 million to modernize its Tervasaari mill in Valkeakoski, Finland, reinforcing its position in the production of high-performance specialty papers. The project, which includes a rebuild of the paper machine’s drying section and an upgraded steam system, aims to increase capacity and improve production stability for products such as glassines and flexible packaging papers. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, this initiative builds on recent sustainability upgrades, including a €20 million investment in energy efficiency and the installation of an electric boiler. With over four decades of expertise, UPM continues to strengthen its role as a leading supplier of recyclable, fiber-based packaging and technical label papers.
