US Postal Service Requests Rate Increase

The U.S. Postal Service has proposed new mailing rates to take effect July 13, 2025, including an increase in the First-Class Mail Forever stamp from 73¢ to 78¢. Other changes include higher rates for metered letters, domestic and international postcards, and an additional-ounce price increase, while postal insurance sees a 12% price reduction. These adjustments, averaging a 7.4% increase, support USPS’s Delivering for America 10-year plan to improve financial stability. Final approval is pending review by the Postal Regulatory Commission.
