The Author of an article is legally responsible for the content of his articles. NEWS is not a media, but a delivery platform.
An every recurring issue for media like Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. is 'who is responsible for the content provided?'
In short. The author is responsible for the articles published. Since we are not a media, and we don't have an editor in traditional sense we can't be held liable or legally responsible for the content. When we review articles we, of course, try to help our users to provide only articles that are legally OK. However, end-of-day, the articles published have an "author name" which is the name of the person legally responsible for the content.
In our first version you can essentially write any name - and I wouldn't be surprised to see Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck on our list of authors shortly. However, since there is registration process and a review process I can't believe this to be a major issue.
