Zeus Packaging Launches Carbon IQ to Drive Smarter, Sustainable Packaging Decisions

Zeus Packaging unveiled Carbon IQ, an innovative sustainability insights platform designed to help businesses measure, compare, and manage the environmental and economic impact of their packaging. Built in collaboration with sustainability software specialist Nutritics, the tool calculates the carbon footprint, eco-cost, and energy use of packaging products across multiple life cycle stages—from raw materials and manufacturing through transport and end-of-life. By offering both detailed impact data and simplified A–E ratings, Carbon IQ empowers companies to make smarter, more transparent decisions that align with their climate commitments.

The platform enables users to input packaging data, including material composition, manufacturing origin, transport routes, and disposal scenarios. Carbon IQ then delivers lifecycle analyses and side-by-side comparisons of alternative packaging options, supporting both sustainability goals and cost efficiency. Reports and visuals generated by the system can be used directly in procurement processes, customer presentations, and ESG reporting. Integrated with Zeus’ product codes and procurement systems, Carbon IQ streamlines data use for practical business applications, from sourcing and new product development to sustainability strategy.

Carbon IQ is designed to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders in the packaging supply chain. Retailers can quantify the impact of private-label packaging lines, ecommerce brands can optimize materials for every shipment, manufacturers can align packaging with corporate responsibility goals, and 3PL providers can improve transport efficiency and client offerings. Already available to Zeus customers across the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe, the platform provides businesses with a new level of actionable insight. As Zeus Packaging positions Carbon IQ as a core part of its offering, it signals a stronger future for data-led packaging decisions that deliver measurable environmental and economic benefits.
