Flint Group Unveils Flexocure LEAP: A Breakthrough UV Ink for Food-Safe Packaging

Flint Group has announced the launch of Flexocure® LEAP, a pioneering UV flexo ink system designed to tackle the long-standing challenge of photoinitiator migration in food contact materials. Built on a revolutionary new resin technology, the inks significantly reduce the risk of migration by stabilising PI compounds during curing, ensuring compliance with evolving global regulations. This innovation represents a major leap for converters, enabling them to produce food packaging that meets the strictest safety standards while maintaining high levels of performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Marc Heylen, Senior Director Narrow Web R&D & Technology, described the development as a “market breakthrough” for safe, compliant food packaging. By simplifying migration testing requirements, Flexocure LEAP helps converters adapt more easily to shifting compliance landscapes while protecting brands’ reputations. Designed to perform even on challenging substrates such as polyethylene (PE), the inks deliver strong adhesion, colour strength, fast curing speeds, and reliable press performance across a wide range of label and packaging applications.

According to Paul Winstanley, Vice President Technology and Product Management, the new range builds on Flint Group’s legacy of pioneering UV ink technologies. “This new range represents a major milestone—an exciting next chapter that reinforces our expertise and leadership in UV ink innovation and regulatory excellence,” he said. Initially launching in Europe, Flexocure LEAP is set for a global rollout, marking a significant advancement for converters seeking future-ready solutions that align safety, compliance, and performance in food packaging.
