Agfa Investigates Ransomware Claim While Operations Remain Fully Functional

Agfa has begun investigating a claim published online by a ransomware group that alleges the theft of data from its systems. According to the company, initial indications suggest that the screenshots shared by the group point to older, non-sensitive information that is no longer associated with Agfa’s active systems. The company stated that all operations are running normally and there is currently no evidence of any personal or business-critical data being compromised.

Agfa’s internal cybersecurity teams, working alongside external specialists, have launched a comprehensive review of the situation. The investigation has so far identified unauthorized access to a single file server, with all evidence suggesting the incident is isolated to that server. With systems fully operational, the company emphasised that operational continuity remains guaranteed and that monitoring efforts have been increased as the assessment continues.

Agfa said that safeguarding information and protecting stakeholders remain core priorities. The company highlighted that it follows strict security protocols to defend its systems and data against cyber threats and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
