Packitoo expanded its HIPE Configure-Price-Quote platform with the launch of the Smart Pricing Assistant, a new AI-powered module designed to help packaging converters navigate increasingly complex pricing decisions. The system uses the converter’s own historical production, material, and commercial data to model how different pricing strategies affect profitability and order conversion.

The tool enables users to simulate pricing scenarios before submitting a quote, showing the margin impact, probability of winning the order, and recommended pricing based on past customer behaviour and market conditions. According to Packitoo, pilot users found that roughly 10 percent of historical quotes could have achieved at least a five-point margin increase without reducing win rates, resulting in an average portfolio-level EBIT improvement of around two points.

Fully integrated within the HIPE digital sales workflow, the Smart Pricing Assistant provides converters with faster, data-driven quoting while reducing reliance on manual estimation. By analysing factors such as board and ink costs, run length, job complexity, seasonality, and performance trends, the module acts as a “commercial compass” for sales teams—highlighting when to raise prices confidently or when strategic discounting may secure additional volume.

Packitoo positions the new tool as a response to the ongoing pressure converters face from volatile material costs, short-run variability, and competitive pricing environments. With BOBST backing and a growing HIPE user base across Europe, the Smart Pricing Assistant reinforces the company’s broader vision of digitalising the packaging value chain from sales and estimating through to production.
