HEIDELBERG Restructures Wiesloch-Walldorf Operations to Boost Efficiency and Strengthen Global Competitiveness

HEIDELBERG announced a major reorganization of its Wiesloch-Walldorf site, the company’s largest facility with nearly 3,800 employees. The restructuring is part of a comprehensive strategy to optimize production, increase transparency, and strengthen the company’s position in growth markets worldwide.

CEO Jürgen Otto emphasized the significance of the transition. “We are delighted to entrust this important task to Orhan Bekyigit, an internal manager with a wealth of experience. These changes send a clear message: we are investing in our future locally and globally.”

With the printing industry facing rising energy and personnel costs alongside intense international competition, HEIDELBERG is taking decisive steps to make its main plant more efficient, leaner, and more sustainable. The reorganization will integrate Sheetfed Assembly, Manufacturing, Electronics Production, Logistics, and Site Management under a single leadership structure led by Bekyigit.

“We want to set up production the way a medium-sized company would: efficiently, transparently, and competitively,” Bekyigit said. “The reorganization is a prerequisite for us to be able to produce more economically in Wiesloch.”

Bekyigit, who joined HEIDELBERG in 1999 and has held multiple leadership roles, including site management, brings deep operational expertise to the initiative. By streamlining workflows and improving coordination across departments, HEIDELBERG aims to strengthen its competitiveness and ensure the long-term viability of its flagship location while continuing to invest in international markets.
