Will the PR-Industry love or hate INKISH.NEWS?
PR or Public Relations live in a love/hate relationship with the media. On one side, the media want the news, on the other hand, the PR people expect to get free publicity. With lower marketing budgets media all over the world experience that companies choose PR over advertising since they often get the coverage for a lower price.
This is, of course, not a sustainable situation, but I am not sure you can blame the PR-companies for this development. Maybe the trade-media should blame themselves first, and then ask why fewer and fewer people read their magazines and websites? and why many consider them 'marketing extensions' rather than free and independent media. This is a story that I will return to at a later point.
INKISH.NEWS is a service that essentially enables everybody to talk to the printing industry. Or, at least this is the intention. INKISH.NEWS removes the editor/filter and brings the stories directly to the public. We believe that with our platform, we will be able to engage with printing companies and their stakeholders. Our platform will enable not only anybody to communicate with everybody, but we will also make it possible for everybody to filter the content they need at a certain time, and eventually by using NEWS, you will have less noise.
So will PR people like what we do? I hope so. I understand that it requires a bit more work from a PR person, mainly because we don't accept press-releases? We are not able to process it. The platform is 100% build to be self-served, so PR people will have to register not only themselves but also their clients. The reach of NEWS obviously depends on content and acceptance, but we have a lot of smart featured build-in making the use of NEWS compelling - also for PR people.
In a later version of NEWS, we will even offer an opportunity to create more conventional press-releases and send these to more than 600 print-related media in the world. We will also soon offer a service where you can use NEWS in your planning of all your marketing activities, like posts on Social Media, plan your print-marketing, and monitor the usage of the same from our backend.
So yes - a bit more work - but a way more complex and positive approach to PR in general.
We hope- and actually believe - that you will be SO happy with INKISH.NEWS that you will consider this as one of your most important go-to platforms when managing your clients Public Relations activity. So Love is what we are planning for!
